Software as a Service (SaaS)

A software licensing model in which cloud providers host applications and make them available to users over the internet rather than having the software installed locally on each user’s device.

For example, common SaaS applications like Gmail, Slack, and Dropbox are accessed via the web instead of taking up hard drive space on users’ computers.
